Nexus Award
On October 15, 2009, the Center for Healthcare Supply Chain Research and Genentech presented the annual Nexus Award for Lifetime Achievement. This lifetime achieve award is the healthcare distribution industry’s highest recognition, honoring exceptional character, accomplishments and leadership in HDMA, the industry and the community.
This year, the Center and Genentech honored Nancy Hanagan, HDMA’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, for her three decades of service at the Association. She is widely credited for shaping HDMA’s role as the voice of primary healthcare distributors, and was lauded for her involvement in many of the organization’s strategic milestones.

DIANA Awards
On October 15, 2009, HDMA presented the 50th annual Distribution Industry Awards for Notable Achievements in Healthcare (DIANA) to 10 leading pharmaceutical and consumer product manufacturers. The DIANA honors manufacturers that excel in their new product introductions and product promotions. The DIANA also recognizes companies that have developed innovative, results-oriented business practices that have strengthened partnerships with HDMA’s primary healthcare distributor members and benefit the entire healthcare supply chain.

Power of Partnership Award
The annual Power of Partnership Award was presented during the General Session on October 15, 2009. The award was created by AmeriCares and HDMA to recognize manufacturers and distributors that have shown exceptional dedication to expand access to medicines and healthcare for disadvantaged populations.
AmeriCares President & CEO Curt Welling presented this year’s award to Cardinal Health, one of the largest healthcare products and services companies in the world. Since 1996, Cardinal Health has donated more than $20 million worth of medical and surgical supplies to AmeriCares for people recovering from devastating natural disasters, facing civil conflict and suffering from extreme poverty.
